This complex red comes from Okro's Wines, a dedicated natural wine estate in the historic Kakheti region of Georgia, founded in 2004. It features the rare Saperavi Budeshuri grape—a white-fleshed clone of Saperavi—which provides an exceptional aromatic intensity not found in traditional Saperavi. The organically farmed grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and fermented without their stems before spending over a year ageing in subterranean clay vessels, known as Qvevri. This ancient, time-honoured technique ensures a pure, honest expression of the fruit. True to their philosophy, this wine is made with zero chemical additives, minimal intervention, and showcases a beautifully pure, ready-to-drink red with elegant tannins.
