The Ronco Malo is a pure, structured Barbera d'Asti DOCG from Vittorio Bera e Figli, who have been pioneers of organic farming in Piedmont since 2000. Sourced from 20-year-old vines, this wine captures the grape's signature high acidity and powerful structure. The vinification is non-interventionist, involving spontaneous fermentation in large 50 hectoliter cement vats. Crucially, the wine remains in these neutral cement vessels on its fine lees for a remarkable 24 months, an extended period that builds texture and complexity while preserving primary fruit and mineral notes. Bottled without clarification or filtration, this medium-bodied red is a warm, concentrated, and authentic expression of the appellation's finest Barbera.
Aroma & Palate | A medium-bodied, warm wine defined by its pronounced acidity and structural finesse. The wine is aromatic and fragrant, offering distinct notes of blackcurrant, raspberry, peony, and violet, underpinned by chalky mineral nuances. The finish is flavourful, balanced, and persistent, showcasing the high-toned energy of great Barbera.
